A greener garden gathering
We are striving to make Gargrave Open Gardens as environmentally friendly as possible. This is in line with our recent decision to join the Eco Church Award scheme at St Andrew’s Church. The vision of the scheme is for for churches to care for creation as an integral part of loving their neighbours and following God faithfully.
With this in mind we are promoting sustainable transport to Open Gardens, printing passports on recycled paper and avoiding disposable cups and plates when serving refreshments at the Village Hall.
Did you know that you can get to Gargrave by bicycle much more easily now that the towpath from Skipton has been resurfaced? It is a flat, pleasant, off-road route. You can park your bike at Gargrave Village Hall. Gargrave is also well connected by train from Leeds, Morecambe and Carlisle, and by bus from Skipton and Kirkby Lonsdale. On both Saturday and Sunday there is a train from Leeds, Bingley, Keighley and Skipton that gets you to Gargrave around the start of the event, and several options for return trains.
You can plan your train, bus or cycle journey to Gargrave on Google Maps.
